Cathedral Eighth
Grade performs an activity which demonstrates a non-Newtonian
material. Oobleck does not comply with the laws of
Newtonian physics, rather it moves like a fluid when stirred slowly.
When stirred
quickly, the mixture "locks up" and behaves like a solid.
Students tried jamming a craft stick into the surface and could not
penetrate the mixture because it becomes very rigid due to the added
energy (force).
