Mission Statement
Our mission as a Catholic School is to develop, encourage, and support the spiritual, intellectual, aesthetic, emotional, social and physical growth of each member of our school community.
This mission is realized through educators who will nurture in the students:

Statement of Diversity

So that our students thrive in such a community, Cathedral School endorses diversity of race, creed, and nationality in our activities, curriculum, student body, and faculty.
Enrollment Statistics
Ratio of Catholic Students to Non-Catholic students is 56% Catholic to 44% Non-Catholic.
Ratio of Catholic Teachers to Non-Catholic Teachers is 63% Catholic to 37% Non-Catholic.
40% of the Faculty hold Masters and above Degrees. All teachers are certified by the State Department of Education.
43% of our students are children of alumni with about 40% of those from both parents being alumni.
Associations
Cathedral School is an approved member of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and meets Non-Public School standards set forth by the Mississippi State Department of Education. Cathedral School is also a member of the National Catholic Education Association.
History
Cathedral School was founded in 1847, just five years after the formation of the first Catholic Diocese and Catholic Church in Mississippi. It has remained in continuous operation for 161 years. The school was originally staffed by the Daughters of Charity who remained on staff until 2003. Throughout the years, many religious women, brothers, and priests have ministered to the youth of Natchez. In more modern times, lay teachers have added their ministry to the educational program of Cathedral.
During the 161 years of education in Natchez, Cathedral School has led the way in all aspects of life and social change. The school has produced priests, sisters, brothers, business professionals, athletes, and others. Its graduates have gone to the finest institutions of higher learning in this country and have served this country in world conflicts, political areas, and education. Currently over 25% of the staff are graduates of Cathedral.
The Cathedral Family has a long and proud tradition in Catholic education.
Facilities
Founded in 1847, Cathedral School is located on a 22 acre campus in historic downtown Natchez. The campus contains 50 classrooms, two computer labs, two libraries equipped with computers for student’s use, two gymnasiums, multiple playgrounds, a large cafeteria offering hot lunch daily, a weight-training facility, a football and soccer stadium, and a chapel.
Cathedral Elementary offers Preschool for 3 and 4 year olds and two classes each of kindergarten through sixth grade. In January of 1999, Cathedral successfully completed a capital campaign building for a new elementary wing and athletic facilities. The Elementary School building houses Preschool 3 year olds through sixth grade as well as After School Care Facility, Multi-Purpose Room/Gymnasium, a 25 workstation technology lab, and a Cafeteria which serves hot lunches daily. Cathedral Middle/High School has two wings separating the Middle and High School classrooms. With two well-equipped science laboratories as well as a large technology lab, these students have access to a superior academic program.
