Why give to Cathedral? Because Cathedral creates an environment for growth and learning.
When I think of Cathedral, I think of people grounded in the belief that education is the avenue toward living a life of promise. A belief that a nurturing and challenging environment can prepare a child for whatever lies in the future. We are a community that understands that an environment for life centered on learning inspires children to reach their greatest potential.
Cathedral teachers continue to be essential to providing our students a challenging education with an emphasis on personal growth and integrity. Help preserve this tradition today with a gift to the Cathedral School Improvement Fund.
With the financial support of parents (past and present), alumni, grandparents, and friends, Cathedral creates an environment for living and learning, which nurtures the young people it serves to fulfill the promise of their individual gifts.

This is a very exciting time at Cathedral! We have seen a significant increase in our Annual Appeal this year! I believe we are a group of people who don’t sit by the sidelines and settle. We make the best of what is offered or available. Hence, seizing the superior education for our children and taking an active stance in it. At Cathedral School, we not only teach children skills for learning, but instill values to last a lifetime.
I am enjoying working with the Development Committee, an advisory committee consisting of 12 members, who offer support to the Development Office through a variety of ways. They help steer ongoing alumni programs and facilitate the organizing and developing of new ones. They attend bi-monthly meetings, participating in various school functions and assist in planning events such as Crawfish Countdown and the Community Leaders Luncheon.
Our Development Committee is a very diverse group. Currently, we have men and women from graduating classes ranging from 1975 to 1991, parishioners, current parents and grandparents, in professions such as legal and financial planning and from all over the Miss-Lou area. Cathedral’s Development Committee changes every year as members terms end, but it is always a versatile group, one that works hard to help the school accomplish it’s mission, “to develop, encourage, and support the spiritual, intellectual, aesthetic, emotional, social, and physical growth of each member of our school community.”
Committee members include:
Mr. Woody Allen
Mr. Walt Brown (’82)
Mrs. Mary Ann Calhoun-Carter (’76)
Mrs. Barbara Kaiser
Mrs. Deborah Martin
Mr. William McDonough, Jr. (’91)
Mr. Sammy Porter
Mrs. Emily White
Mr. Kurt Russ, School Board Advisory Representative
Mr. Pat Sanguinettti (’79), Principal
Fr. David O’Connor, Pastor
The Memorial Garden project was started by the 1998-99 Student Council with help from the Knights of Columbus as an effort to memorialize the dedicated Cathedral Family members, as well as beautify the campus. In addition to the brick sidewalks, the garden has a fountain, benches and statues.
Once again bricks can be purchased in Cathedral’s Memorial Garden, which is located between Seton Hall and Roy J. Garcia Gymnasium.
You can honor and memorialize any member of the Cathedral Family by purchasing an engraved brick to be placed in the sidewalk. You can engrave your family name, honor a teacher, principal, pastor, alumni or loved one, list your company’s name, memorialize a deceased loved one, or honor a graduating class year.
Bricks are $50 each, and can hold up to two lines, 14 characters (letters or numbers) per line. Send your check (payable to Cathedral School) and inscription to the School, or contact the Development Office at 445-9844 for more information.
