Admissions Policies and Procedures - New Families
We sincerely appreciate you considering Cathedral Catholic School as an educational option for your family. Our mission is to lead our community to a deeper knowledge of God. Through rigorous academics in communion with the Roman Catholic Church, we strive to educate the whole person – body, mind, and soul. Our purpose is to form true missionaries of the Gospel who realize their full potential as individuals of the highest moral character.
Our admissions process is comprised of several important steps. Please read each step carefully for detailed guidance and next steps:
Step 1 - Request for Information
If you would like to learn more about Cathedral Catholic School, a parent or guardian may complete a Request for Information Form.
Step 2 - Complete an Online Application
Steps for the application process are provided in the Apply Now section of our website. Be sure to pay close attention to the list of required documents that must be uploaded during the application process. Applications will be reviewed by our admissions team when all required documents are received.
Step 3 - Family Interview and Student Assessment
We value education as a partnership with our families. The interview process is an important opportunity for us to get to know your family’s values, hopes, and expectations. It also allows us to share more about our school community, including what we value and expect from our students and their families.
- All applicants and at least one parent or guardian are required to attend the interview. Families will be contacted to schedule the interview.
- In addition, students applying for Grades 1 through 12 must complete assessment screenings in reading and math.
Step 4 – Admissions Decision Notification
The admissions team will carefully review all submitted information, including the application, interview, assessments, and supporting documents. The team’s decision is based on this comprehensive review and the availability of space in the requested grade level.
Families will be notified of the team’s decision via email. The decision will be one of the following: acceptance, declined, or placement in a waiting pool. If a student is placed in a waiting pool due to limited seats, he/she will be considered should a seat become available. The waiting pool list does not carry over to the next school year. Families must reapply for future consideration.
Step 5 - Post Acceptance Enrollment and Next Steps
If accepted, parents/guardians will be notified via email with instructions outlining the steps required to submit the enrollment packet. Families will have 10 calendar days to confirm acceptance of the offer by completing and submitting the enrollment packet.
As part of the enrollment process, parents will:
- Establish a payment plan with FACTS Financial
- Upload the following required documents:
Additionally, a $325 non-refundable registration fee is required at the time the enrollment packet is submitted.
Admissions Priority Considerations
Admission to Cathedral Catholic School is based on prioritized considerations set forth by the Catholic Diocese of Jackson. Therein, the admission of students will be given priority in the following order:
- Students currently enrolled
- Children of families with siblings currently enrolled (Applications must be submitted by the priority deadline date as designated by the school.)
- Children of participating Catholic parishioners (as determined by the pastor)
- Children of other Catholic parishes
- Alumni

Please note that priority considerations are not a guarantee for acceptance.
